Silentide is a concept that refers to the musical feeling of being involved in the calmness of the underwater. It is João Freitas' project, a musician and producer based in Porto, Portugal. After recording with his band Balter Youth (debut album 2020), where he played as a guitarist, he then opened a recording studio with some friends (Estúdio Cedofeita), where he recorded and produced Silentide's debut album, Self Note, released earlier this year. Alongside his band, producers, friends and family, the album took shape from Freitas' individual view that ended up evolving into a flourishing collaboration of many people. Influenced by artists such as Thom Yorke, Josin or First Breath After Coma, Silentide’s music is a blend of indie guitar/vocals and electronic/ambience sounds and sampling. Porto, Portugal 2023
