Eric Contractor is a musician who seems to embody a world of beautiful darkness with his intimate, yet orchestral dream rock-pop music. Whether singing in his deep, dark-timbred vocals, exploring emotional depths in performance, or reaching incognito for connection in the alienated, modern world, Eric seems to carry this theme of darkness, chiaroscuro in his art. His brand of moody, sweeping noir-rock draws comparison to artists such as Jeff Buckley, Roy Orbison, Lana Del Rey, and The National. Eric developed his musical craft studying music and composition at New York University, and thereafter immersed himself in the challenging, dynamic, and exciting music scene in New York City. As a solo act, his strong, distinctive vocals and operatic-tinged performances propelled him to play notable NYC venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Arlene's Grocery, The Living Room, among many others. He has played countless shows in the NYC area and beyond, faithfully honing his art in the process.
