Swedish rock artist Edvin Stais creates a sound that connects with the past. Inspired by great classic rock bands like Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Dire Straits, his music is bound to make you reminisce. Edvin’s early fascination with music was greatly encouraged by his parents and his grandfather Stig Stais, former drummer of the band Ciljans back in the 1970s. After being introduced by his grandfather to the band Eagles with a live DVD he would describe as “an epiphany”, singer and drummer Don Henley would become his biggest inspiration. “Since then, the Eagles have been my greatest role models when it comes to both songwriting and thinking”. Along his best friend Elis Comén, another key figure in his music career, Edvin formed the duet Comén & Stais, which released their debut LP “Above Us” in 2020 and their single ”Only Love Can Break Your Heart” in 2021. Their song “The Consequence of Understanding” would top Swedish Radio Jämtland’s P4 chart in the spring of 2021. “Something that has not only affected the music I make, but also my whole life itself, is the depression that characterized my later youth”, explains Edvin, while reflecting on the radical change he has recently experienced. “This summer I also fell in love with a girl, and this of course affects the music I make. 2022 is actually the first year in a very long time that feels good”. Exploring new paths as a soloist, Edvin signed with Gothenburg-based Rexius Records in 2021.
