Биография
Pink Williams aka The Man in Pink was born in Northern California Wine & Cow Country and spent his childhood learning every instrument he could. His parents introduced him to artists like The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Elvis Presley, and countless others, and soon he developed a taste for retro music and style. After years of playing at open mic nights with his twin brother Ryan (a prodigious guitar player and musician himself), and a stint as a stage actor, Pink hit the road for Memphis, Tennessee to return to his family’s Southern roots and dive into a music career. There he began to study and listen to the history of American roots music, Blues, Country, and Rock N' Roll. He soon discovered that what he once disliked about his singing voice was suited for the classic Country style, and soon he was obsessively listening to Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, Jimmie Rodgers, Willie & Waylon, and most of all Hank Williams (ol' Hank was the inspiration behind the stage name Pink Williams!) Always politically minded, he began to write folk and country music about the current state of the nation, finding inspiration in the political songs of Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, and Phil Ochs. While his style may be retro, his views are not. His music celebrates progressiveness and the differences that make America such a special place while rejecting white supremacy and intolerance.
