Биография
Grammy nominated songwriter and artist Lord Afrixana’s life and music are as complex and textured as the cloth that his native southern Ghana is famous for. Born in Kumasi, Ghana, his parents brought him to America through Liberia at the age of three. Afrixana was raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. 30 odd years since he last set foot in Ghana, Afrixana’s first exposure as a writer came on Epic recording artist Jidenna’s breakout album “The Chief”. But even after some legitimate success as a songwriter with a myriad of artists including Bebe Rexha, Mr. Probz, and Akon, Afrixana’s ‘biggest break’ was yet to come... but almost didn’t happen. In the fall of 2017, Afrixana’s immigration status appeared in more jeopardy than ever when Donald J. Trump suspended the DACA program. Created by the Obama Administration to shield eligible immigrant youth who arrived in the US illegally as children from deportation. For nearly a year Afrixana was forced to remain in Worcester until multiple lower court decisions and injunctions restored DACA. Less than a week after receiving the ability to travel, Afrixana went to Los Angeles where he was given the opportunity to write on Beyonce’s Lion King inspired album “The Gift”. For which he co-wrote two records including “Water” and “Don't Jealous Me”, (the latter of which he was featured on as an artist.) The album would go on to debut at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.
