Latchkey Kids is a band from New Jersey. Born out of the frenetic energy of Demarest Hall, a special interest Queer/Arts/Socratic dorm at Rutgers University, Latchkey Kids aims to capture outsiderdom, the collective wandering woe of the self-reclaimed “freaks + geeks”. Formed in 2019, the band spent their college semesters chipping away at NJ’s DIY spaces, emphasizing their shared joy in cultivating a loving community. Honing in on their "broken english" rock + indie punk sound, Latchkey Kids remain reminiscent of Jersey's indie icons before them- The Gaslight Anthem, Pinegrove, + My Chemical Romance. Exhausting north, south, + the disputed 'central' NJ, Latchkey Kids would foster a household name in the New Brunswick + Rowan Alt music scenes<3 Establishing their lineup as Hanny Ramadan, Cyle Morris, Joey Grzybowski, + Mihir Rastogi, the band moved together to the Great City of Philadelphia. As a Philly band, Latchkey Kids have learned to come into their own. Since their move, the band has toured most of the US, featured at Macrock Festival in Harrisonburg, VA, + opened for acts, Creature Canyon, Young Jesus, + Well Wisher.
