Биография
Songwriter Phil Cross has more than ten years of successful gospel hits to his credit, among them "Champion of Love," a Dove Award winner. Despite the fact that his songs were being recorded successfully by a number of artists, he wanted to share his message and music in a way he felt called to do, and his desire led him to pull together the quartet that came to be known as Poet Voices. During the group's first year, Poet Voices took "Jesus Built a Bridge" to the top of gospel charts. Other hits followed, including several that landed in the Top Ten. The quartet also placed the Cross-penned "Gotta Go Back," "I Am Redeemed," and "Grace and Glory" in the top spot. Lead vocalist Cross, who is married with one child, was born in 1957 and lives in Georgia. Songs that he's written include "Wedding Music," "Saved to the Uttermost," "When I Get Carried Away," and "There's a Miracle in Me." The group's youngest member is Tennessee resident Richie Works, who was born in 1981. Scott Inman, who was born the following year, also lives in Tennessee. His father is gospel vocalist Clayton Inman. Tenor Dale Brock, whose nickname is "Tadpole," is the quartet's third Tennessean. Married and the father of two children, he was born in 1965. Bass singer Tim Duncan was born in 1971. He makes his home in Alabama, where he and his wife raise two children. He studied with London Parris. ~ Linda Seida, Rovi
