Биография

Burçak was born in a small town called Hengelo in the Netherlands, and has Turkish roots. From a young age he was brought up with western and eastern music. At the age of 12 he started taking lessons in drums and guitar, which eventually led to singing lessons. After a couple of years of experimenting he formed Velvet Monk, a pop/rock band that he was a member of for four years. The band won several contests and performed at a lot of festivals. Eventually, the group parted ways and Burçak decided it was time to do something else. In 2011, Burçak started his solo career, mixing a more oriental sound with pop music. The result is a strong, uplifting crossover sound. After writing, performing and recording his songs for four years he signed with Sony Music. Several EP releases and a Turkey tour followed. In 2018 Burçak released Divas on the Dance Floor! which was also a public coming out. A media storm of sorts erupted, with the highlight being an epic performance at the Amsterdam Pride closing party on Dam Square. The very public coverage of his private life did take it's toll. After taking some time off to regain his energy and spirit, Burçak is back with his new single Bomba!
