I spend so much Time in my mind Catching stars in the light of the night Why do Some shine so bright And have other stars tried to find A way to Shape their Shine To be better Brighter And make me go out of my mind Have they tried? I have tried to Throw out a line Looking out for a sign That I I have aimed For the brightest star out there But how is it fair That every time I think I caught the right one I see another Brighter Bigger Closer To the sun Now I lie In the valley Trying to throw out a line Could I reach The right one this time? Fishing for a fantasy But can you catch What you can't see? I keep looking up to the sky Even though I'm surrounded by Dying stars that lie At my feet still I try To find The one that is brighter and further than the rest 'Cuz the ones that I've got simply aren't quite the best So I have collected a pile Of stars that ain't worth my while Now I lie In the valley Trying to throw out a line Could I reach The right one this time? Fishing for a fantasy But can you catch What you can't see? Now I lie In the valley Dying stars overtake me They burn so bright That I can no longer see Which star is calling to me So I'll keep fishing for a fantasy
