Amsterdam based singer-songwriter VanWyck released her debut album 'An Average Woman' in 2018 and was immediately embraced by the Dutch music vanguard. Her warm voice and lyrical songwriting drew comparisons with Nathalie Merchant, Laura Marling and Leonard Cohen. Big names, but VanWyck plays in the big league. She proved that with her second album, 'Molten Rock', "the most beautiful Dutch record from 2019". National paper de Volkskrant gave 4 stars and wrote: "it’s time everybody gets to know VanWyck". In 2020 she surprised her audience with the intimate lockdown album 'God is in the Detour' that saw even more praise internationally. It received a 4 star review in Mojo magazine, radio airplay in France, Germany, Canada and the US and has been streamed over a million times. Her fourth album , 'The Epic Tale of the Stranded Man' was released by iconic Dutch indie label Excelsior Recordings in 2022. Its twelve songs intertwine both lyrically and harmonically. Together they tell a story about a man haunted by a dark past and the woman who tries to save him.
