Биография
Lail Arad is a London-born singer-songwriter, best known for her sharp lyrics, arresting voice and art-house music videos. Her packed live shows often evoke the intimate atmosphere of 1960s Greenwich Village, full of harmonies, humour and storytelling. Her critically acclaimed debut album “Someone New” (2011, Notify Music) was championed in France by Les InRocks, Le Point and Le Monde, leading to an appearance on the TV show Taratata. Arad’s follow up album “The Onion” (2016, The Vinyl Factory) received BBC radio play from DJs including Lauren Laverne, Jarvis Cocker, Robert Elms and Max Reinhardt, as well as press coverage from Paper Mag, NYLON, The Financial Times and the London Evening Standard. The album was released with a coinciding book of lyrics, published by The Society Club London. Following extensive touring, including support slots for the likes of Television, Ezra Furman and Jeffrey Lewis, Arad was awarded Women Make Music funding from PRS Foundation. She went on to release a string of stand-alone singles, including “The EU Song” (hailed by Billy Bragg) and most recently three collaborations with celebrated Montreal songwriter JF Robitaille (Sparks Music / Universal Canada). In 2017 the two artists embarked on a series of duo tours, playing over 100 shows across 8 countries, from Italy to India. The pair are currently working on a full length duo album due for release in 2020.
