An art pop duo with one foot deeply rooted in the digital art world, Laikka places equal importance on their visual aesthetics and musical productions. Experimental soundscapes, dreamy vocals and driving electronic beats combine into an exciting mix that is pushing the duo into the international spotlight. Founded at the beginning of 2020, Laikka deal intensely and unflinchingly with the big topics and trends of our time - both musically and conceptually. A deep, melancholic introspection, strong emotions, diffuse fears, the feeling of loneliness and challenges in the digital age are often juxtaposed with big dreams. Coincidentally, the band's name is reminiscent of the first creature to make space history - and yet is somehow also programmatic. After successful singles that received airplay on numerous European radio stations, Laikka unveiled their album debut, the much-acclaimed electronic pop gem "Morning Glow," in the fall of 2021. Shortly thereafter, indulging their love of contemporary club culture and provocative fashion design, Laikka released the energetic techno-concept EP "Red" and began making a name for themselves as a fascinating and explosive live act. 2023 delivers the release of "Bleach", the duo's second studio album. With this new LP, the band deepens its narrative and experimental capabilities - developing new sounds that harmonize hard, modern electronic productions with catchy pop compositions.
