Биография
thenewno2 is the fittingly unorthodox name for the visionary ensemble led by vocalist and guitarist Dhani Harrison. For the past decade, Harrison has steered the growth and evolution of his collective, which has featured a revolving cast of musicians as diverse as Regina Spektor to RZA. Recently, Harrison, along with his fellow thenewno2 member and childhood friend, the multi Grammy award winning engineer/producer Paul Hicks, has turned his focus Paul Hicks, has turned his focus to the worlds of film and television composition, scoring projects such as Richard LaGravenese and Tony Goldwyn's TV project The Divide as well as the feature film Beautiful Creatures, whose “cool alt-rock sound” achieved by “the haunting music” was praised by the LA Times. To date, thenewno2 has released two full-length studio albums, 2008’s You Are Here and 2012's thefearofmissingout, about which NPR Music said, “The whole affair radiates urgency, giving thefearofmissingout a sense of restless energy that helps it sound both independent-minded and eager to please.” In addition, thenewno2 have performed on Conan, The Late Show, The Tonight Show, and at the Coachella Music + Arts Festival, where Spin Magazine crowned them the “best debut performance of the festival,” and at Lollapalooza, where Rolling Stone listed them as one of the Top 10 Must See Bands.
