The origins of Family Hahas go back over a decade. From a young age, best friends Alex Rogers and Joey Briggs were shaped by the colorful soundscapes of their families’ record players: a sweeping collection of aural touchstones such as Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, and Led Zeppelin. At age 9, they found camaraderie in their shared passion for music and soon discovered a number of uncanny similarities in their upbringings. Both had musical mothers—Rogers’s wrote and performed children’s music at the local library; Briggs’s was a singer-songwriter who independently released her own music.
