Dirty blues with that hard-rock edge. The Howling Lords are a three piece group from the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, who play “whiskey-sodden blues-rock with balls”, according to music journalist Chris Herron. The group are currently recording their second album which is planned for release in 2018. Formed in late 2015, the band released their first single ‘Bad for Me’ in 2016 and a self-titled debut album full of “sludgy grooves and a confident swagger” (Rock and Roll Traffic) in early 2017. This success was quickly followed up by a collection of live videos and their ‘Dead Letters’ EP. Guttural, gritty garage rock sound with heavy riff laden tracks reminiscent of the Black Keys and Jack White, to more stripped back numbers channelling the vintage vibes of 1930’s blues and country artists like Robert Johnson and the Carter Family.
