Биография
Blending post-punk, shoegaze, and electronic elements into a familiar yet mysterious sound, Nite Fields evoke the legacy of fellow Australian bands such as the Church and the Go-Betweens. Songwriter and vocalist Danny Venzin met guitarist Chris Campion while they were living in Brisbane and discovered their shared musical tastes. Nite Fields was formed in 2011 with bassist Michael Whitney and drummer Liza Harvey joining the fold. Soon after the band began working on songs that incorporated keyboards and samplers as well as the more usual rock trappings. As their sound evolved from its ambient beginnings into something more propulsive, Nite Fields released a pair of singles, 2012's "Come Down" and 2014's "Vacation", on Venzin's own Lost Race label. "Vacation" caught the ear of HTRK's Nigel Lee-Yang, who produced the sessions that would become the band's debut album. "Depersonalisation" arrived in February 2015 via Felte Records. After touring Europe, North America and Asia the band seemingly disbanded, having gone off the radar for a number of years. They reappeared in 2020 with the announcement of their second LP "A Voyeur Makes No Mark", a co-release between Lost Race and Russian cassette label Perfect Aesthetics. Further emphasizing Nite Fields’ experimental leanings but with a more assertive and at times industrial sound, production for the album took place over a four year period in Australia, Russia and Northern Ireland.
