Биография
Bill Laurance is a 5-time GRAMMY® award-winning pianist, composer and arranger, whose rise to fame with the world-renowned outfit Snarky Puppy, has paved the way for a flourishing solo career. Laurance released his debut solo album Flint in 2014, followed shortly thereafter by Swift - both albums receiving praise for their deft musicianship and emotive writing and arrangement. 2016 saw the release of his third solo effort Aftersun, a rhythmic and funk-infused album featuring percussionist Weedie Braimah, followed by his first live album, captured at London's Union Chapel. In 2019, Laurance launched the record label Flint Music. This coincided with his first concept album, Cables, which draws inspiration from the exponential growth of technology. Laurance has collaborated with an array of musical talents. His most recent effort with Michael League, “Where You Wish You Were” signals a departure from the digital soundscapes of his earlier solo works. Instead, the latest duo album focuses entirely on the possibilities of an acoustic grand piano and fretless stringed instruments of Mediterranean origin. Similarly, his latest solo album, Affinity, diverges stylistically from his earlier material. “I've wanted to do a solo piano album for as long as I can remember. To perform solo, represents musical freedom in its purest form and there is no other setting where I feel more at home".
