Finland might not be the most likely place to produce hauntingly beautiful Americana, but as it happens, SaintPolis comes from Tampere Finland and plays music that instantly evokes the familiar feel of small town sidewalks, smokey barrooms, beer and barbecue. But with a Nordic twist. 
 The band is on a mission to bridge the musical gap between Finnish melancholy and the mythical Americana. SaintPolis writes music that relies on the tried and tested tradition of Americana, alt-country and power pop, and it is obvious that bands such as Jayhawks and Teenage Fanclub have given this five-piece band a warm and welcoming musical home. As one listener commented: “This is music that Wilco fans didn’t know they were missing.” To sum it up: this is music that relies on jangly guitars, beautiful melodies and tight harmonies.
