SARU is a R&B singer and songwriter from the south side of Stockholm, Sweden. She has been singing for as long as she can remember as she finds it therapeutic and a way for her to express her emotions. She participated in different shows and uploaded videos of her singing on social media platforms during her high school years as a way of seeing what could be. When she received positive responses she started taking it more seriously. She started taking music seriously at the end of 2018, and shortly after began creating songs. She started writing and co-produce when she was provided with a studio by music journalist Ametist Azordegan. 
 Music has had a major role in impacting her life and the love for it started early childhood which she emphasizes in interviews. 
 SARU’s artistry offers a sensual, rough, and unique approach to R&B; gathering influences from the genre’s 90s and early 00s eras, as well as producers such as Timbaland and Darkchild. The lyrics and uptempo melodies, reflecting her thoughts and emotions, play smoothly on the warmth of the accompanying production. 
 Since her first release “We could’ve been”, SARU has been interviewed on P3 Din Gata: Spellistan where she premiered her second single Savage, and has since then performed on Drömstort at Annexet, Järvaveckan, and Cherrie’s ”Känns som 05’” event at Södra Teatern. 
 
 SARU’s debut EP is set to be released early 2023.
