THE SPERMS | BORNEO PUNK UNIT | The Sperms, a punk unit based in Balikpapan formed by Dede (Vocal & Guitar), Rendy (Guitar & Vocal), Ochan (Bass) and Wicky (Drums). Dede and Rendy finally found a new formula over maintaining the existence of Beerbong for such many years after the band that was legacified to them by the vocalist Bama (RIP). Ochan, who had the golden age with The Aline, a band from Jogjakarta, finally blew the dust between his bass frets after years of hiatus in music. Wicky, who previously played with Super Chooper, accomplish the band to make some revenge of old-school punkrock to the battlefield in a fun way. The Sperms presents various lines of 90's skate punk. The upper two-string chords with overdrive, dynamic yet rugged bassline, high-tempo drum beats and the vocals that setted in harmony remind us of Hi-Standard, MxPx to Bad Religion. If you expect The Sperms' songs sound like those end-time pop punk bands, you are 100% wrong. The Sperms confirmed that they grew up in the days of melodicpunk bands like FastCrash and Kuro! is dominating the stages and Nudist Island's split album with Aggresive Touch is the best split album ever. On March 2020, The Sperms launch their debut single titled "Menghilang", a song that taken from The Sperms' EP (Extended-Play) album "Silent Answers". For this debut EP, The Sperms recorded all songs at the BorneoLab Studio in Balikpapan, Borneo - Indonesia, with LordDaru as the sound engineer.
