The band was formed in 2001 when a 16 year old teenager Antti (vocals, guitar) had written a bunch of songs and asked a few years older friend Pasi (drums) to jam those songs with him. Pasi was already a sort of a rock star after recording three albums, reaching the top of the Finnish charts and playing hundreds of shows around Finland with his pop-punk band @Tyrävyö. Antti also asked his older brother Heikki (guitar) to write lyrics for the songs. Soon Heikki was in as well and they recorded their first demo. Biggest influences on that first demo were probably @SystemofaDown, @Incubus and a German band called @Thumb. They called the demo 'Foreplay' so they decided to play gigs under that name. The band recorded their second demo and adopted a new name, Snipe Drive, after the street that runs through the neighborhood of Riihikallio where all the members of the band lived. Snipe Drive started intensive rehearsals, played every show they were able to get, recorded several demo tapes and participated a few band contests as well with no success though. Snipe Drive felt they were banging their heads against a brick wall. In 2006 the band decided to pull their last straw and hired an actual professional, Jyri Riikonen, to record their next promo CD 'Caught on tape'. Soon there were major record labels and Finnish indie labels after Snipe Drive. The band chose a small label called 92Dawn who let Snipe Drive keep their artistic freedom...
