Биография

Singer-songwriter Tom Ashton founded the power pop/pop punk outfit Early Edison. They've shared the stage with Gin Blossoms, Berlin, Missing Persons, The Alarm and were championed on SiriusXM by Pat Dinizio (The Smithereens). Their song “Demographically Pleasing” was named Pop Song of the Year by Newsday and was featured on their debut album co-produced by Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, Bob Mould) and mixed by Joel Hamilton (Highly Suspect, Blakroc). Their subsequent album “Better Late Than Never" was co-produced by Ashton and bassist Tom Wendling and featured production contributions by Grammy-winning producer Patrick Dillett (They Might Be Giants, David Byrne). Several songs were featured in TV/films including “Burn The Boats” (My Boss’s Daughter), “New Distraction” (A View From The Top), “Lies Like You” (Tru Calling). New songs were mastered by Fred Kevorkian (The White Stripes, Jesse Malin, The National, Iggy Pop). “A clever mix of Bob Mould’s alienated sonics and Ray Davies’s catchy hooks… mixes the alternative toughness of the late-80's Minneapolis music scene and the lyrical and infectious melodicism of succeeding British invasion bands.” – New York Times “Early Edison evokes the halcyon days of British cutting-edge rock, incorporating Clash and Kinks inspirations.” - Newsday
