Биография
Dye Corduroy is an indie rock band that spans the meridians across Lahore to Philadelphia. The band serves as a moniker for Adil Salik who is currently based out of Philadelphia, PA - USA. The band and its sound evolved from the globe trotting nature of singer/songwriter/guitarist Adil: essentially taking birth in the Middle East, laying down roots in Lahore's underground music scene and eventually burgeoning in America. The Dye Corduroy sound amalgamates early alternative rock and grunge influences seamlessly into more contemporary indie rock , folk (both Pakistan's and Americana) as well as the adult alternative genre and soundscape. The band has a wide range of influences and if you were to cherry pick: R.E.M., Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Neko Case, Pearl Jam, Placebo, Minus the Bear, Counting Crows, The Cranberries, RHCP, The Smashing Pumpkins, Ryan Adams, early Belle & Sebastian, The National, Kathleen Edwards, K's Choice, Junoon and Tori Amos would make for interesting highlights. "The songs I sing are all that remain past the gossamer of self-afflicted veneration. Punk, grunge, alternative, power-pop, folk rock. A satellite of my two cents. Glorify the common and deconstruct the hyper-blown." - Adil Salik The band boasts a huge catalog of songs which have been strategically released underground and online since the early 00's. While the English catalog of songs is the most prolific, the band also writes & records a significant amount of songs in Urdu.
