Биография
Bandung's very own gloom-and/or-doom quartet formed in 2009 by campus buddies Haikal Azizi / Bin Idris (vocals/guitar), Mirfak Prabowo (bass guitar), Bob Edrian Triadi (guitar), and Risyad Tabattala (drums). With Bob leaving the group in 2010 replaced by Nurachman Andika a while after, and Pratama Kusuma Putra replacing Risyad on drums in 2011, Sigmun's early recordings feature a couple of different configurations of personnel, notably the 2012 self-titled EP and their track for the Indonesian release of 2011 film The Raid with The SIGIT's Rektivianto Yoewono as Mooner. After releasing a split LP with Suri and Jelaga through Orange Cliff Records in 2012, Sigmun released their debut EP “Cerebro” through Yes No Wave Music in 2013 and their 2012-recorded EP later that year through Cactus Records. Their 2015 LP Crimson Eyes was dubbed as one of the 15 Best Indonesian Albums by Rolling Stone Indonesia that year. Sigmun released two singles in 2018 and 2019, titled Behelit and Minotaur respectively. Musically influenced by the Mighty Sabbath and the Zeps, their interest in Sigmund Freud concepts of unconscious mind and their love for the whimsical world of surrealism are evidently showing in their lyrics. Enjoying the exploration of absurdism and juxtaposition in their writings, Dali, Magritte and Chirico might have influenced them as much as Page and Iommi did, paintings made out of hazy poetry and heavy echoed chords.
