Биография
Ikkubaru is an Indonesian 4-piece band which the band name was created by converting the band’s front man name, “Iqbal” into a Japanese katakana romanization. Established in Bandung, December 2011, Ikkubaru was heavily influenced by the 80’s Japanese music, such as; Tatsuro Yamashita, Mariya Takeuchi, and 角松 敏生. Their debut album “Amusement Park” (2014) got a major success in Japan and was also released into various physical formats, from CDs, cassettes, and 12” vinyl. They have a deep connection with the Japanese music scene by providing and producing songs for any Japanese artist, singers, and idol groups, such as; tofubeats, Faint★Star, Michiru Hoshino, Erica Uragoh, Kenichiro Nishihara, Pictured Resort, Especia, Monari Wakita, TWEEDEES, RYUTist, 963, Philosophy no Dance, 加納エミリ, Takashi Fujii, etc Ikkubaru successfully made their first Japan Tour in June 2015, and played in 7 sold out shows and became a hot topic among music lovers in Japan since then. From the year of 2015 to 2019 they toured in Japan almost every year, played in various cities and festivals. They also collaborated with one of the most famous Japanese artist / illustrators, Hiroshi Nagai, for two covers of their 12” vinyl albums, “Amusement Park” (2015), and “Brighter” (2017). Their sophomore album, “Chords & Melodies”, had been released in 2020 and was also released into various formats, CD and 12” vinyl, by the Japanese record label, Hayabusa Landings.
