"Sons of Absolution (SOA) is one of the local metal bands who have made themselves most noted in recent years. With a variety of concerts, such as the Jugendfest and Rauma Rock, they have gradually acquired a reputation as a solid live band, and a band that kicks out. " -Terje Erstad (Momentium / Ocean Sound Recordings) Sons of Absolution is a metal band from Aalesund which started in late 2012, and has played both at festivals and various bars / club premises around the country. Music-wise they focus on fast, heavy riffs and scream vocals to keep the energy level on top and mix it with catchy melodies and epic choruses. This has also led to the draws to a wider audience, which extends beyond the metal scene. The young band has recorded her debut album, "The Beautiful Sin", in the renowned studio "Ocean Sound Recordings", on the island Giske, a few miles outside Aalesund. Their debut album, is finished and was released 11.12.2015. The band's first demo, "Sense of Purpose", which was released in late 2012, attracted attention on Urørt.no, and climbed to first place on the leaderboards at "Hard Rock/Metal" genre, and to an overall fourth place on the entire NRK Urørt. The music magazine, "Hissig.no", has stated that the band has the potential to be something great. "The Hardcore metal band have something as rare as two main vocalists, one sings and the other growles. It creates an interesting contrast in music, actually something new in the genre."
