No other Filipino band can move a room like Nanay Mo does. Dancing to live music is usually a reactionary act. You listen, and act accordingly. Nanay Mo doesn’t give you time to listen. Nanay Mo has an ear for dark and humorous social critique in the form of high volume, tightrope rock and roll. I’d say it’s dance music for people who hate dance music and the status quo. Who the hell knows? It’s dirty garage, blues, alternative music. We like it good and we like it raw, curating vast influences to bust out a new window off your wall -- same home, different perspective.
