Chris Hartt is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter known for his melancholic, often sad indie folk songs that embrace treasured moments lost in time and sometimes yearn for greater ones to come. He self-produced his first EP To Your Love in 2015 (including well-received All I Ever Do), right after Branson Hollis disbanded (a post-hardcore party in which he did the same job he does today - mostly writing, singing and guitar playing - but in a somewhat different way, trust me). He soon after retired from music for quite a while to focus on other matters and worked different jobs. A few years went by and when he realized life without music wasn't worth a dime, he quit his then job and began writing again. Chris Hartt officially returned in 2021 with Meanwhile Ago, a first album he wrote and demoed in five weeks. The self-produced 11 track LP is a tribute to travels of the mind, where time plays tricks. Some say the ghostly, ineffable nostalgia that emerges out of these songs echoes long after they've been played. And the more you dig, the more you're filled with an insatiable desire to know more. Yet not about the man behind this, but about yourself. And your journey in this world.
