Биография
April + VISTA – the genre-blending duo made up of composer/singer April George and producer Matthew Thompson – has steadily emerged from D.C. 's underground, carefully extracting elements from downtempo, alt-rock, soul and electronic to build lush, multi-layered compositions. Their unique sound has grabbed the attention of notable outlets including The Fader, NPR, Afropunk, and BBC Radio 1Xtra, seen them tour internationally with artists like Little Dragon and Little Simz, and has earned them an appearance on Berlin-based music platform COLORS STUDIOS. You may have heard their music in Dear White People (Netflix), the Emmy award-winning I May Destroy You (HBO) or most recently in the feature film, Really Love (Netflix). Their latest EP, "Pit of My Dreams," finds them experimenting with a darker, grittier sound than its predecessor, 2018's critically acclaimed "You Are Here." It is entirely self-produced and marks the first time they've explored spatial audio – they teamed up with immersive audio engineer Christopher Willits (Envelop/Ghostly) to create a multidimensional, immersive listening experience. "This project exhibits our desire to raise hell to defy our subduers" they explain, "it doesn't offer neat solutions to existential crises. Instead, we wade through our very human perception while searching for objective reality."
