BC Azad burst onto the Indian indie scene in 2018 with the release of his band’s eponymous album Park Circus, coming out of absolute obscurity with no label backing or promotion to be hailed as Apple Music India’s ‘New Artist of the Month’ for October 2018. Featuring cult hits like ‘Millennial Whoop’ and ‘700017 - it announced Azad as a genre-bending pioneer representing a strange new wave of Indian Hip-Hop. Rapping in Hindi, English, and Bangla, Azad plays with his words and his audience’s minds - seamlessly transitioning from comical to conscious; his sharp, sarcastic and lyrical rhymes jaywalking the thin and sometimes jagged line between youthful idealism and world-weary cynicism.
