Биография

Allye Gaietto is a singer-songwriter based in Detroit, MI. Genre-wise, her songs are best described as a cross section between pop melody-writing, country storytelling, and indie rock instrumentation. Her lyrics are woven with self-aware fragility, brought to life by a voice always caught halfway between a shout and a whisper.
You could say that Allye is one of Detroit’s best-kept secrets, but the truth is that she kept the secret herself. Allye was writing songs in her bedroom for years before working with Gordon Smith of The Kickstand Band on her 2016 EP Some Kind of Heaven. Recorded in Smith’s Detroit basement and mixed by Andy Thompson (Dessa, jeremy messersmith, Dan Wilson, Belle and Sebastian) in Minneapolis, the EP is a testament to the power of a few good microphones and a lot of hard work.
In summer of 2019, Allye met Detroit producer and arranger Maurice “Pirahnahead” Herd (Victoria Monét, De La Soul, Les Nubians). She sent him some demos, and the connection was immediate. They spent November 2019-March 2020 at Rustbelt Studios, with Allye’s live band (Phil Keller, Jonathon Hackett, and Will Daniels) as well as guest musicians like Ron Otis, Steve Stetson, and Chris Codish. With Andy Thompson back to mix, the result is a perfect blend of influences. There’s heartbroken pedal steel, 90s pop sweetness, gospel organ slides, and sweeping strings - and that’s not even the half of it. Hoping for More, her first full-length album, is set to be released in May 2022.
