„Der Klang der Seele“ ist die Fortführung und Weiterentwicklung des vorherigen Marcator Albums ‘Trauerspiel’. Im Gegensatz zu früheren Marcator Alben handelt es sich um Gesangstitel mit Marcator auch als Texter und Sänger. Stilistisch ist die Musik im Bereich Singer/Songwriter einzuordnen mit Rock und Pop Einflüssen. 
 Marcator’s music can roughly be divided into 3 categories which can occasionally mingle: concept albums, with or without vocals, instrumental albums with guitars and electronics and experimental and ambient music. Concept Albums: ‘EIDERLAND SUITE’ (1993) ’DREAMTIME CYCLE’ (1994) ‘BEYOND THE MIRRORS’ (1996) ‘NecroMantra’ (1998) is about the world of alchemists, magicians and necromancers at the end of the Middle Ages. ‘EVOLUTION’ (2005) is based on the life and the ideas of Charles Darwin. ‘CIMBRIA-1883’ (2009) is about the sinking of a vessel in 1883. Guitar albums: ‘WATTENKLÄNGE I, II, III (2001, 2003, 2020) are instrumental albums and cooperations with guitarist Holger Mummert (III is a solo release). Electronic/Ambient Music: Visual ENERGY I and II’ recorded in 1986, digitally remastered 2011. ‘WAI’ (2016) - ambient, experimental music based on an extended journey in South-East Asia. Released in October 2019 INMORTAL is an instrumental guitar album by Marcator with relaxed and partly meditative grooves. In April 2021 released TRAUERSPIEL, a solo album with German lyrics, musically in Pop-Rock and Singer/Songwriter style.
