Giannis Ploutarchos is one of the most renowned, commercially successful and beloved Greek singers. His career in discography began in 1998 with a CD single entitled by his name. One and a half months later, he released his first full-length album, “Mono Esy”, with contains the song “Enas Theos”. In 2000, he released the album “Ypirchan Orkoi”, that gave a huge boost, setting the beginning of his great success. All of his albums have gained multi-platinum, platinum and gold certifications and have won music awards, with almost all of their songs standing out in the audience’s preferences and topped the radio airplay. Among others, at the ARION Music Awards 2002, he won five awards, the most of each other artist (best laiko album, best album of the year, best video clip, best singer in laiko and best singer of the year) for the album “Mikres Fotografies”, while the 3xplatinum albums “Den Einai O Erotas… Paidi Tis Logikis” and “Paei Ligos Kairos” were re-released with bonus songs and DVDs. His albums are always a commercial success and they are making records sales, as did in 2019 the album Tragoudia Akatallila which made direct entry to the no1 of the psychical album sales chart, while it was certified platinum, released in collectible vinyl and was the highest selling album of the year. On February 2011, he took part in the Sanremo Music Festival alongside Italian renowned artist Albano Carrisi and Greek operatic soprano Dimitra Theodossiou and won the first place.
