Lamu born Ahlam Ismail, is an East African Afro-urban & Pop music artist and writer based in Kampala. Her sound can be easily defined as diverse as she fuses styles and genres as well as mixing Kiswahili with English and Luganda in her lyrics. After she was picked by Empawa Africa to represent Uganda as one of the 100 up-and-coming artists from across Africa, she dropped her Debut Single Something About You together with its music video and this officially launched her professional music career in 2019. This humanitarian and animal lover lifts the Afro-Urban movement flag high up and her smooth and sweet vocals leave her listeners enchanted and wanting more. She has since performed on Major stages like ‘Nyege Nyege ‘Blankets and wine’ ‘Akadope’ ‘Shorts Na Lesu’ ‘Malembe Block Party’ 'Midem' amongst others. She is the reigning Miss Earth Uganda. She continues to take on major creative and directorial roles in her music, fashion, and films.
