Josh West is a vocalist and songwriter from Glendale, AZ. Competing on Season 12 of NBC's hit show The Voice, he received a four chair turn and a standing ovation from the coaches. Adam Levine, who often compared Josh to his younger rock 'n roll self, was his coach. He made it to the Top 20 before being eliminated in the Live Playoffs. Josh has written songs since 2010 as part of a strong musical collaboration with his father, Glen West, a Musician's Institute graduate. The resulting musical style is alternative pop rock with many other genres influencing his songwriting. Musical influences include Radiohead, Switchfoot, Oasis, U2, Relient K, Audioslave, Jeff Buckley and Coldplay. Josh's vocal style has often been compared to Jeff Buckley and Jon Anderson. ​ His goal is to bring meaning and purpose back into the forefront of culture. With lyrics that focus on life's deeper questions, he aims to give music to his audience that provides a cathartic experience by writing about the universal struggles of the human condition. In addition to his focus on pop sensibility he strives to bring the spirit of Rock 'n Roll to a younger generation.
