Биография
Nadaka was born and raised in Québec and began playing guitar when he was 11. He decided to travel around the world when he was 16 and settled in India where he lived for the next 40 years, primarily in the international township of Auroville, founded on the ideal of human unity. His love and passion for Indian culture led him to study its music, learn different Indian instruments. He designed and crafted a unique instrument of his own, a guitar specially designed to play the subtle tones of Indian music that he likes to call the Raga Guitar or “Geet-Taar” (singing strings). From the early days of Indian fusion, he has been active member on the contemporary musical scene in India, recording and performing with many recognised Indian musicians such as A.R. Rahman, Ganesh-Kumaresh, Vikku Vinayakram, Selvaganesh & Shivamani. He also has a number of successful albums to his credit. Inspired by traditional Indian Ragas and rhythms, He plays his own distinct style of east-west fusion. Nadaka & his partner Gopika met in Auroville, India and have since collaborated on numerous musical ventures. Says Nadaka: “as an invaluable addition to my musical spectrum, I have been most fortunate to learn these mantra’s from Gopika in their deep original form” Gopika ads: Nadaka’s unique Raga-Guitar sounds harmonise perfectly with the vibration of the chants.
