“Khorshideh Siah” (literally translated as “Black Sun”) is an Iranian rock band based in Tehran. The band was founded in 2011 and in the short time since then has released three full lengths albums; a dozen singles online and performed live on many occasions. “Khorshideh Siah” has been called “The First and Only Pro-Environment Band in Iran” by the media since its lyrics subject matter deals exclusively with many environmental and social issues including different environmental crises, animal cruelty and also wider subjects such as Human and Animal rights. The band released its debut album, “The Baluchistan Black Bear” in 2014 which deals with many environmental crises in Iran and has been hailed by national environmental activists and organizations including “The Department of Environment”, “The Animal Rights Watch”, “The Iranian Cheetah Society”, “Iran S.P.C.A.” and “The Rangers Society” and referred to as “The Best Rock Album of 2014” by many music critics. The band released its sophomore album in 2015 called “The Black Tear”, going deeper into social and environmental matters. The album was also praised by the media in Iran. The band's third album "Dual Burner" was released in 2017, which, like previous albums, deals with environmental and social issues. Even though their songs are mainly sung in their native language of Persian, the band has also released many songs in English which focuses on International crises
