Floodwater Angel is an enigma. Blame it on their surprise album drops: 2020's Oddities & Odysseys, the band's first "practice" album, is a 20-song psychedelic experiment in individual influences. Ranging from the classic west coast psychedelia they were raised on, such as the Grateful Dead and Big Brother & the Holding Company, to the modern international music you hear booming from their "Vibes Palace" in the Como neighborhood of Minneapolis. 
 Technicolor live shows, drenched in smoke, only serve to illustrate songs from the band's first LP, Glitter Cannons: a stark album of "finger-pointing" songs infused with 1960s-'70s glam. Girl At the Rock Shows called it "full of controlled chaos". The band's second album, Dungeon Crawlers, leans into modern psych rock territory: pounding kraut rock, deep meditative guitar licks, and soothing folk intercut with the band's own flavour of rock and roll. 
 Here is what we do know: Floodwater Angel is the story of heartbreak, tech-nightmares, and a climate meltdown happening right before your eyes. The ship we're on is sinking; When you look up, what do you see?
