Биография
Déportivo are a French alternative rock band whose 2004 debut album was well received critically. Founded in Bois-d'Arcy, a commune in Yvelines, Île-de-France, the band is a power trio comprised of Jérôme Coudanne (composer, guitar, vocals), Richard Magnac (bass), and Julien Bonnet (drums). Déportivo made their recording debut in 2003 on the Parisian independent label La Village Vert with the maxi-single La Salade, followed shortly thereafter by the full-length album Parmi Eux. Though Parmi Eux wasn't a major commercial success initially, positive word of mouth spread over the months following its release, and consequently the album began climbing up the French albums chart. In addition to the release of a couple singles ("Roma," "À l'Avance"), Parmi Eux was repackaged with bonus material and reissued in February 2005, at which point the album peaked at number 90 on the French albums chart. For their self-titled follow-up album, Déportivo collaborated with producer Gordon Raphael, celebrated for his work on the Strokes' Is This It (2001). Released in 2007 in association with Universal Music France, the eponymous album reached the Top 30 of the French albums chart and spawned the single "La Brise." While lacking the surprise of the band's debut effort, Déportivo was similarly well received from a critical standpoint. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
