Биография
The Gallerist is a rock band based on the North Shore of Boston with a sound that has been compared to the likes of Wilco, My Morning Jacket, and On the Beach era Neil Young. Originally born there, the Gallerist was described as Philadelphia's "best kept secret" (WXPN's the Key) before building a solid following and sharing the stage with the likes of Laura Marling and Ron Gallo. Since establishing themselves in the Boston area in 2018, the three-piece has been making a name for themselves, playing all around the city, the North Shore and beyond. With two releases to their name so far, the Gallerist’s current lineup, featuring Mike Collins on guitar and lead vocals, Jim Chekos on bass and Max Monaco on drums, will be releasing their third extended play, Great Escape, this May, a record that sees the band exploring new sonic territory and expanding their reach beyond anything they’ve put to tape thus far. Co-produced and mixed by Benny Grotto (Ben Folds, Magnetic Fields, Amanda Palmer, Ballroom Thieves), the Gallerist’s first single for a new extended play out this Spring, “Science" is both question and answer for the wanderer in all of us. Sparse and eerie from the outset, lilting vocals, straight eights and a backbeat give way to an explosion of defiant fuzz—cacophonous joy in the face of soul-sucking reality. Find yourself getting lost in a world wet with reverb, echoing “come get us, we’ll be ready.”
