Formed in early 2007 in Naples, Italian band Pipers have undergone a number of changes over the years. The band developed their sound from electric-tinged indie pop to a more mature, layered alt-folk pop sound that has seen them capture the hearts and minds of a number of Britain's most celebrated musicians and bands. Still without making a record, Pipers were personally chosen by Tim Burgess to support The Charlatans in Italy in 2008, and a support slot with Ian Brown swiftly followed. Pipers were also invited to play at a number of UK festivals including Liverpool Sound City, Matthew Street Festival and Creamfields. 2009 saw another support slot offered by Starsailor. In early 2010 Pipers debut album, No One But Us, was released to critical acclaim in Europe. Having spent most of 2011 touring and rehearsing their new material, Pipers unveiled their new folk inspired tracks supporting Turin Brakes and Simon & Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene in 2012; some months later they also supported James Walsh from Starsailor during his Italian solo tour. Their second album Juliet Grove, recorded in Wolverhampton at Magic Garden Recording Studios with Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Ocean Colour Scene, Scott Matthews), was released in January 2014 thru Pippola Music and Flake Records (for the Japanese market). The third album Alternaif was released in 2016 and promoted with 20 concerts across Italy. This was the final act before the decision to split up and follow new personal paths.
