Papi K is an independent Hip-Hop and R&B artist with an impressive 3.5 million+ streams on major streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. His most popular hits have reached over 74 countries, cementing his status as a globally significant independent musician. The 'Wrist Piece' rapper started selling out shows in his hometown, Columbus, Ohio after graduating from his west side high school in 2015. Papi K was born in Minnesota and spent many summers in Yemen with his family, learning about his culture and appreciating both his Ethiopian and Yemeni roots. His family transitioned to Columbus, Ohio where went on to enroll at The Ohio State University as a Communication major. Through connections, Papi K began recorded his first song, 'Cycles' using an Xbox mic on Audacity in the closet of his dorm room. The surge of popularity for Papi K’s music is truly global and though he has many professional highlights, the one that stands out the most is Waka Flocka Flame featuring on his song 'Beat The Block'.
