Биография
Ligiana Costa studied classical singing and after concluding her Bachelor’s Degree she went off to specialize in baroque singing in Den Haag (NL). From there she went to Italy where she pursued a Master's Degree in Renaissance and Middle Ages music in Cremona and then to France where she concluded a PhD on Baroque Opera. Meanwhile, Ligiana began singing Brazilian music and soon after discovered a taste for songwriting. She returned to Brazil and released her first album, De Amor e Mar, recorded in Sao Paulo, Paris and Brasilia. In 2013 Ligiana released the album Floresta, produced and arranged by maestro Letieres Leite and recorded in Salvador. Since 2015 Ligiana has been developing projects in her electronic duo, NU (Naked Universe), in partnership with Edson Secco. NU has already toured Brazil, the United States and Europe and has released two albums, the most recent titled Atlântica (2019). Ligiana is also a researcher and has published books on musicological studies. She recently concluded a Postdoc degree at University of São Paulo and the book published as result of this research, O Corego, was awarded the Flaiano Prize (2018) in Italy. Currently Ligiana presents and directs the podcast of the Municipal Theater of São Paulo and has just releases a new solo album (EVA), with musical production by Dan Maia. EVA is creatively arranged for voice, where each song has a women's name, in the present, the past or imagined times, the private and the collective.
