Julie and Gent are an indie-folk Brazilian duo, who deliver a purposefully simple and light sound. The duet was formed in the city of Belo Horizonte (MG - Brazil) in 2015 by Júlia Gutierrez and Gentil Nascimento. Gentil Nascimento is a musician and former drummer of the band “Young Lights”, while Júlia is a singer and songwriter in the band “A Banda João”. Julie and Gent's musical compositions are filled with American folk influences aligned with unpretentious melodies. Male and female voices alternate in uncomplicated bases, combined with arrangements of harmonica, banjo and informal percussion. 
 Encouraged in an informal chat with Bruno Baptista (Sony Music), the duo entered the studio again for the recording of their first full album: "The Convenience of Fate". Released in 2018, it was recorded and produced by Nando Costa at Versão Acústica studio in São João Nepomuceno (MG - Brazil). The ten-track album features arrangements and melodies with new instruments (including melodica, piano and electric guitar), while maintaining the unpretentious style which is the recurring and essential characteristic of Julie and Gent. A year after all this crazy experience, Julie & Gent decided to live new adventures in native Portuguese. With strong influences of pop and Brazilian folk, the duo presents the first single "Enquanto Você são Está", recorded in Sonastério studios in Belo Horizonte (Brazil).
