Leanbacker is the downtempo alias of Scottish house music producer Ross Couch, slowing the tempo for further adventures in mellow, melodic, chilled out grooves with a touch of jazz, neo soul, lo-fi and electronica. Ross first began releasing the occasional downtempo release under his own name on his house label Body Rhythm Records back in 2012, and quickly found success with 'From Dusk Til Dawn' spending 5 months in Beatport's chill out sales chart, six-months on Germany's official chill out Top 20 and also making it onto Traxsource's top 100 lounge tracks of the year. Other releases in this style were proving popular too, which led to a compilation called, A Different Tempo: The Downtempo Collection in 2014, followed a year later by the decision to start the Leanbacker alias and sub-label Beats Since Birth to focus on this style of music. Several Leanbacker singles have since charted highly on stores like Traxsource and Beatport, while also featuring on leading Mix CD's, including Kontor Records 'Tanit Beach Ibiza' and Puro Music's 'Puro Urbano' series. After a hiatus for the past few years, the Leanbacker project is now back better than ever with an exciting line-up of releases set to drop throughout 2020.
