Nardean is an MC, singer and poet who hates writing about herself in the third person. Born in Australia, to an Egyptian family, I grew up surrounded by a number of clashing cultures. It means that I have some interesting shit to write about. Mostly, I focus on lyrics. I started with poetry, then transitioned to hip hop, then kept singing more. Now I am somewhere in the middle of all those things. Performing is one of my favourite parts about this whole thing, because I get to look you in the eyes and we don't do that enough as humans anymore. *line from old bio which I like so I'm keeping* As a performer Nardean displays an unfiltered humanity that allows her to connect with anyone, no matter how complex or cosmic her subject matter is. *insert accolades* blah blah named as one of Stoney Road's "Up and Coming Aussie Hip Hop Artists You Need To Know", blah blah labelled "the real deal, every box ticked" by the Sound Doctrine, yada yada (read: you'd better watch this one cause she's blowin' up.) I recently played Splendour in the Grass, BIGSOUND and did a headline east coast tour, which I suppose are things I should mention in a bio. If you've read this far, I appreciate you.
