Биография
Pieket is a lofi indie pop/dream pop band from Dhaka, Bangladesh. It consists of singer/songwriter and bedroom producer Sinjan, Wadud on drums and percussions, Hasib on synths plus guitars and R on the bass. When they are not busy making music, they sit back and talk about their lives. The band cites Attic Abasement, Hello Shark, Good Morning, of Montreal, Tyler the Creator, Hala, Soko, Car Seat Headrest, Michael Seyer, Mac deMarco, Khruangbin and Blunderware among some of their many contemporary influences. Pieket was formed in 2015 by Sinjan and Wadud. They describe finding Hasib and R akin to coming across musical soulmates after what felt like an eon of traversing through space alone. Pieket chooses mundanity over ecstacy, chooses fresh over safe, completion over perfection- because it is so hard to remain still. Their music is known for its 'floaty' quality. Perhaps the biggest point of criticism and celebration is how the music is rough around the edges. The band takes several adventurous twists and turns in their music- sometimes flirting with too much ambition. The lyrics are sincere with a deadpan delivery. Pieket is interested in engaging in a conversation with their audience, with songs often addressing the listener in second person as if some dialogue was taking place. Paired with kaleidoscopic imagery and lyrical honesty, the songs have a warm and mysterious aura to them.
