Биография
Boasting a mix of commercial pop/rock and Maroon 5-styled R&B, the Crash Motive formed in the early 2000s in Newark, DE. Derek Fuhrmann (vocals, guitar) had discovered the file-sharing benefits of Napster during his freshman year at the University of Delaware; fueled by the sudden exposure to such heavy hitters as Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, he took up the guitar and sought out musicians whose experience trumped his own. Jaime Orlando (keyboards) was first to answer Fuhrmann's call, and the two were soon joined by Josh Berger (bass), Tyler Ingersoll (drums), and Shawn Manigly (guitar). Initially adopting the name of Omnisoul (which later changed to Crash Motive in summer 2007), the five-piece quickly rose to local prominence, winning a university-wide Battle of the Bands competition and topping the request charts at WSTW, Delaware's Top 40 radio station, for a record-setting 29 consecutive evenings. The song responsible for such attention, "Waiting (Save Your Life)," was subsequently used in the action movie Fantastic 4. By this point, the Crash Motive's popularity had extended well past the confines of their college campus, and Wind-Up Records sent the band into the studio with producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Dashboard Confessional) in spring 2007. The band emerged with their major-label debut, Consequence, which was released the following October on the Wind-Up label. ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi
