Born to Lebanese parents deep in the heart of Texas, and now based in New York City, singer-songwriter and actor Anthony Esper Abdo, going by the moniker ab-do, is the embodiment of cultures colliding. Mixing the desperate emotion of the Arabic music he was surrounded by growing up, with the folk roots of an understated Americana folk artist, ab-do brings a refreshingly genuine sound to the acoustic folk genre. Recorded in single takes with a single microphone, ab-do's raw and genuine sound is evident in Chamomile, his acclaimed debut EP. Collaborating with indie artist studentsection, their single On My Way Out shows range in synthesizing a more refined folk-pop sound. Stay tuned for the next EP in his three part series, expected to release in the later months of 2023.
