Named after a yoga position, King Pigeon are striving for a blend of beat-driven indie and dreamy synth pop sounds. The Munich based four-piece was formed in 2015 and has since released the EPs ‘Sonic Fields’ (2016) and ‘About The Stock Life’ (2018). King Pigeon’s latest singles ‘Higher’ and ‘Heatwaves’ capture a sense of wanderlust and explore the eternal cycle of seeking and finding in life. This synthesis of seemingly contrary elements is also reflected in the sound of the double single: 80s inspired synths and chorus guitars are combined with a modern production. It’s an expansion of the band’s classic indie approach through influences from pop and disco, resulting in mellow danceable vibes that are evocative of artists like Roosevelt and LEISURE.
